Mary was the daughter of William Luke and Mary Haydock Luke. On 17 August 1882, Mary Emily Luke and Niels William Anderson were married. They lived in Manti, Sanpete County, Utah. Mary and Niels separated during the 1920's, and Mary lived her remaining years in Los Angeles County, California with several of her children and beloved grandchildren. Because of her staunch faith she could not divorce him, but she refused to live with him any longer.
