She was the wife of SSgt Robert Ray 'Tex' Kuntz, who was injured severely in B-24J #42-73305 'Rose of Juarez', which crashed at the end of the runway at Chengkung upon takeoff on a bombing mission 13 July 1944.
She cared for him when he returned to the US for medical care due to his injuries. They were married 4 September 1945 at DeWitt General Hospital, Auburn, California.

Frances J. Kuntz, 78, of El Cajon died Tuesday. She was born in Missoula, Mont., and was a homemaker for 56 years. Mrs. Kuntz served in the Women's Army Corps during World War II. She was a member of the Parent-Teacher Association and was a volunteer for the Grossmont Hospital Auxiliary Pink Ladies.
Survivors include her husband, Robert R. Kuntz; daughter, Cathy Patsko-Clark of El Cajon; son, Rob Kuntz of Washington, D.C.; sisters, Marge Staples of El Cajon and Marie Van Ort of Lockport, Ill.; brother, Paul Johanen of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and two grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. tomorrow, Wesleyan Church of El Cajon, 1500 E. Lexington Ave., El Cajon.
Interment: 1:30 p.m. tomorrow, with military honors, El Camino Memorial Park, 5600 Carroll Canyon Road, San Diego.
