Laura Harrison DuVal, fourth daughter of Gov. William Pope (1784-1854) and Nancy Hynes DuVal (1786-1841), was born September 15, 1820, in Bardstown, Ky. and when married lived in Tallahassee, Fl. She married in 1840, Dr. Arthur Moray Randolph (1815-67), son of Thomas Eston (1767-1842) and Jane Cary Randolph Randolph (1776-1832), of Virginia. The latter was a first cousin of Thomas Jefferson. Their eight children were Thomas Eston, II (1841-62) who served and died in the Florida 1st Infantry Regiment (CSA); James Henry (1843-60); William Duval (1846-1907); Elizabeth Eppes (1845-1933); Laura Hynes (1848-82); Arthur Moray, Jr. (1850-1924) who married a Mrs. Lee; Cary Harrison (1853-1935); and John Parkhill Randolph (1855-). All of the children except Thomas and Elizabeth moved to Texas.

William Duval Randolph (1846-1907) served in the Florida 2nd Cavalry Regiment (CSA) in the Civil War. He married in 1869, Marion E. McKay (1849-90). Their daughter, Sara McKay Randolph (1870-1959), married in 1891, William Alonzo Carter (1865-1922). Their four children were John Arthur (1891-98), Shirley (1896-97), Randolph, and William Alonzo Carter (1902-1959) who married in 1926, Virginia Harrison Hall (1906-70), of Roanoke, Va. They lived in Roanoke, and their daughter was Virginia Randolph Carter (b.1930).

Elizabeth Eppes Randolph (1845-1933) lived in Sanford, Fl. She married in 1866, Capt. Benjamin Franklin Whitner III (CSA)(1842-1913)(UNC 1866?), son of Capt. Benjamin Franklin, Jr. (CSA)(1819-81)(UGa. c1841) and Sarah Jane Church Whitner (1820-90), of Sanford. He was a member of the Florida state legislature, 1891-93, 1895-99, and superintendent of the state mental institution. He and his father were citrus orchardists, and he served in the 1st Florida Infantry (CSA). His father also served in the 2nd Seminole War, 1837-38. Their seven children were Eston Randolph (1867-), Capt. Benjamin Franklin, IV (1868-1953), Sarah Jane (1870-94), Laura Duval (1872-), Elizabeth Randolph (1875-1922)(dsp), Maj. Arthur Moray Randolph (1881-1958), and William Church Whitner (1886-1962). Benjamin F. Whitner, Jr. was a surveyor of the Whitner-Orr boundary line between Florida and Georgia.

Cary Harrison Randolph (1853-1935) lived in Austin, Tx. He married in 1889, Perry Lee Clements (1867-1959), daughter of Robert Henry (1818-99) and Cornelia Jane Grumbles Clements (1841-82). Their seven children were George A. (1891-1964), Edgar Francis (1893-1977), Evelyn (1894-1971), twins Mary Page (1898-1989) and Lucy Beverley (1898-1987), Bessie (c1901-), and Robert Cary Randolph (1905-80). Evelyn Randolph (1894-1971) married c1922, William George Willman (1875-1958), son of George (1838-91) and Edna Wells Willman (1839-1916). He was a drugstore owner and pharmacist in Brownsville, Tx. Their children were Evelyn Cary (1927-2009); William George, Jr. (1930-) who married Sylvia (1934-2004); and Joseph Frank Willman (c1932-). Evelyn Cary Willman (1927-2009) (UTx M.A. c1945) was a research scientist for the U.Tx. Military Physics Research Lab. She married Clarence Taylor Welborn (1925-2015)(UTx c1948), son of Jefferson Davis (1891-1962) and Elsie Peverly Letcher Welborn (1894-1983). He was a hydraulic engineer/hydrologist for the US Geological Survey, 1948-85. Their daughters were Frances who married James Goodwin, Beverly who married Brian MacCarty, and Deborah Welborn. Two grandchildren were Jesse and Will T. Goodwin (-ante2015), and a great grandson, Alex Goodwin.
