"The death of Harriet A. Steele, wife of Lorenzo Steele occurred very suddenly at 10;30 o'clock Sunday evening, December 20, 1925 at her home in East Springfield. Death was caused by a shock in the early morning of same day of death. Mrs. Steele had not been in good health for a long time, but her death was entirely unexpected and came as a great shock to her family and friends. She was a loving wife and faithful mother, unassuming in manner and always ready to give help in time of need. She will be greatly missed in her home also by friends and neighbors. She was a Christian woman and very devoted to her family, was of a cheerful nature, although of late was not permitted to be about as usual on account of poor health. She is survived by a loving husband, one son, Lorenzo E., who lives at home, and four daughters, Mrs. Anna Brown of East Springfield, Mrs. Samuel Bridger, Cooperstown, Mrs. Sarah Moyer, Fort Plain, and Mrs. Cora Bridger at home, who so tenderly and faithfully care for her mother, besides nine grand children. Funeral was held Wednesday at 2 p. m. from her late home, the Rev. F. L. Benfield of the Presbyterian church officiating, of which she was a member. Interment in Springfield cemetery."
