Bertha C. Davis, of Middletown, formerly of Wilmington, died Monday, June 10, 2002 at Christiana Hospital, Newark. She was 71.
Mrs. Davis was the class salutatorian of Georgetown High School in 1949. She was a homemaker and had worked for the Diamond State Telephone as an operator. She was a member of ARC and DARC.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her son, William H. Davis, IV, in 2000.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, William H. Davis, III; a daughter, Charlene E. Davis of Lexington, Ky.; two brothers, Frank Conaway (Sallie) and Bill Conaway (Regina), both of Georgetown; and a sister, Mary Ellen Carey, also of Georgetown.
Services were held June 15 in the Daniels and Hutchison Funeral Home, Middletown.
Interment was in the Townsend Cemetery, Townsend.
