Born May 16, 1948, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late LeRoy Norman and Carrie Isabelle Forney Houck. He was the stepson of Evelyn Houck, of Reisterstown.
Through the years he spent a lot of time at the Baltimore City Fire Department Engine 40.
Surviving, in addition to his stepmother, are siblings Patricia Phillips, of Taneytown, Patricia Zimmerman, of Littlestown, Pa., Deborah Rothschild, of Raleigh, N.C., Charlotte Criss and Joseph Houck, both of Hanover, Pa., Rebecca Giggard and Charles Houck, both of Como, N.C., Norman Houck, of Timonium, Lloyd Houck, of Pasadena, and Richard Houck, of Hampstead; and numerous nieces and nephews.
