Mr. Fraguero was born in Tuttletown to Edwina (McGinn) Fraguero and Lucian Fraguero.
He graduated from Sonora High School in 1948.
He worked as a lineman for PG&E for a few years before joining the military.
He was a private first class in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from March 1951 to December 1952. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
After the war, Mr. Fraguero returned to his work as a lineman for 37 years until retirement in 1986.
He also owned and operated a cattle ranch in Calaveras County. He was a member of the Calaveras County Cattle Association and the Calaveras County Farm Bureau. He was also a 4-H leader and a member of the Junior Livestock Committee.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time on his ranch.
Mr. Fraguero was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Robert Fraguero, Louis Fraguero and John Fraguero.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Nelda Fraguero, of Angels Camp; his children and their spouses, Gary and Francene Fraguero, of Angels Camp, James Fraguero, of Douglas Flat, Katherine Reid, of Angels Camp, and Lettie and Randy Beeman, of Jamestown; his brother Larry Fraguero and his wife, Maryann, of Oakdale; his sister-in-law, Lois Fraguero, of Sonora; his grandchildren and their spouses, Greg and Carrissa Fraguero, of Angels Camp, Hannah and Mark Franz, of Angels Camp, Cody Reid, of La Grange, Cory Reid, of Wheatland; and Kyle Beeman, of Copperopolis, and one great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of choice.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home, 225 E. Rose St., Sonora. A chapel service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, also at Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Shaws Flat Cemetery.
