RANDOLPH- Clayton R. Olmstead 78, of RD 1, Archer Road, Randolph, died at 7:35 pm, Thursday, (January 12, 1989) in his home.
He was born February 22, 1912, in Johnstown, NY, a son of David and Belinda Gardinea Olmstead.
Olmstead was a member of Randolph American Legion Post 181 and Randolph Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 2273.
Surviving are four sons; David Olmstead of Florida, Clayton R. Olmstead Jr. of Jamestown, Gregory Olmstead and Lawrence Olmstead; two stepsons; Thomas Doak of Johnstown and Michael Doak of Gloversville; a daughter Sally; three stepdaughters; Kathleen Simmons of Steamburg, Coleen Riblett of Randolph and Carol Ticknor of Silver Creek; and several grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 11 am Monday in Van Renssealaer and Son Funeral Home, Randolph. The Rev. David Stanley, retired pastor of Grace Episcopal Church of Randolph will officiate.
Burial will be in Randolph Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 Sunday in the funeral home.
