On June 12, 1893, Turrissa Ann Johnson married Fred Gillett and to this union two children were born, Ada Beatrice and Harvey Levi.

Fred cut his foot in an ax accident and blood poisoning set in. Of course, it is almost certain that his untimely death could have been easily avoided if modern antibiotic medicines had been available, which again, provides an example of the uncertainties and hardships of pioneer and rural life in the nineteenth century. He died October 4, 1898 and is buried in the Cooper Cemetery (also called the White Oak Cemetery) south of Stanberry in Gentry County.

Fred Gillett united with the Island City Christian Church in 1888. Turrissa Ann's name wasn't found on the church's present roll but as I have mentioned before, early church records were lost in a house fire, so we're not sure if she was a member or not.

Turrissa Ann was married a 2nd time to George W. Bailey on July 11, 1902. Two daughters were born to this union, Grace Eunice and Electa Barbara.

Turrissa Ann died March 31, 1907 and is buried in the Lafayette Cemetery in Nodaway County.
