Toussaint J. was the first child born to Joseph Martin (1844-1927) and Philomene(nee Isabelle)(1845-1925) on 06/15/1864 in Columbus, Franklin Co., Ohio. he moved with family between Quebec Prov., Canada and Negaunee, Marquette Co.,MI several times before permenently to Delta Co., MI by 1877. Married Octavia Fontaine(1866-1936) on 06/10/1890 in Green Bay, Brown Co., WI where they stayed to have two daughters, Miranda (1892-1956) and Mildred (1895-1917). Moved back to Escanaba from 1900-1916 before returning to Green Bay, WI before Oct 1917 when/where younger daughter, Mildred, died in drowning accident. The couple may have taken over Octavia's parents' store. Toussaint died from lobular pneumonia-pleuresy while visiting Escanaba, MI on business in 1921. His wife, Octavia Fontaine, remained in Green Bay, Brown Co., WI where she died 08 Sep 1936.
