SERVICES HELD FOR RETIRED USS EXEC
John Morris Spearman, 78, of 2204 Shades Crest Road, who died Sunday, was a retired U.S.Steel executive and had lived in Birmingham for 57 years.
Funeral was today at Valley Chapel with burial in Elmwood. Mr. Spearman was retired as vice president in charge of operations at U.S. Steel in 1956 and was a member of the Fairfield Presbyterian Church and the Ruling Elders of the Presbyterian Church.
He was a native of Tallapoosa, Ga., and a charter member of The Club and the oldest member of the Ensley chapter of Zamora Temple.
Survivors include two sons, John T. Spearman, Birmingham, and Leroy Spearman, Newport News, Va.; and a daughter, Mrs. Rex D'Olive, Loxley; and two sisters, Mrs. C.J. Donald of Birmingham and Mrs. Howard Snyder, Everet, Washington.
