Thomas E. Elliott, 64, of Goshen, died at his home early Sunday morning, September 2, 2012. He had been ill since May. He was born June 6, 1948 in Waterville, Maine, to Norman and Louise "Edna" (Upham) Elliott. He married Linda Martin September 15, 1969 in Arlington, Virginia. She survives along with three daughters, Julene (Marty) Fitch of Elkhart, Heather (Tony) Elliott-Heath of Monticello, Minnesota, and Rebecca (Tony) Akens of Goshen; a son, Joshua (Brandy) Elliott of Goshen; 12 grandchildren; and a great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, James, David and Dale Elliott. Mr. Elliott served with the U.S. Army for 21 years as Master Sergeant in The United States Army Band "Pershing's Own". He moved to Goshen in 1988, graduated from Goshen College in 1992 and attended Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary one year. He also worked at Miller Brother Builders, The Elkhart Truth and Oaklawn, Goshen. He was a member of the DAV and the New England Historical Society and enjoyed genealogy research. There will be a private family viewing followed by a graveside service. Rev. George Cecil, Cornerstone Wesleyan Church, Albion will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 5, 2012, from 4 to 6 p.m., at the home of his daughter, Julene.
