Funeral services for William Boone Roe were conducted at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the First Baptist Church by the Rev. Eugene Fleming and Dr. Wayne Wiman. Burial was in Riverview Memorial Gardens with Higgins Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Roe died on Tuesday night, October 22, at the Lincoln County Hospital.
A son of the late Joseph Valentine and Emma Davis Roe, he was born in Lincoln County and and was a member of the First Baptist Church.
At the age of 16 he began his work as a tailor with the late J. F. Madden, and continued in that business until his retirement in May of this year.
Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. John Kidd, of Brooksville, Florida; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Tom Woods of Huntsville, Alabama; three brothers, Stanley Roe of Franklin, Tennessee, Carl Roe of Columbia, and Fred Roe of Flintville; one step-sister, Mrs. John G. McAlister of Fayetteville; three step-brothers, Ford Scott and David Scott of Fayetteville and George Scott of Chattanooga; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
