The son of Arthur Nelson and Minnie Seaholm, Howard married Helen Louise Kuhn Kaucher (daughter of Daniel Kuhn, Jr. and Ella Kraft) on 10 Sep 1949 at Hamilton County, Ohio.

Sadly, Howard took his own life at his home in Cincinnati, Ohio. He had been married for just over one year.
