Attended Pleasantville High School and North Carolina State University where he received a degree in Industrial Engineering. He worked for Martin Marietta working on the Gemini Space Program. After moving to La Mesa, CA he worked at Rohr Corp. He became President of Rohr Corps in 1978 until 1980. In 1981 he bought KT Aerofab, an aerospace company; he sold it about 1986.

Son of Concetta and Salvatore Filiciotto. Brother of Frank and Mary.

He was the husband of Fannie Kate (Ward) Filiciotto (b. July 4, 1927; d. May 1, 1988); they were married in 1952 and lived in Baltimore, Maryland. They had three children, Sam, May, and Connie. Grandfather of Samantha, Rebekah, Katie F., Brittany, Aimee, Katie P., Carolyn, Erika, Jerri, Sherri, Jason, Sarah, Page, Killian, Kaylynn, and Kristen. Great-Grandfather of Bobby and Daniel.

Third husband of Patti Page (d. January 1, 2013) whom he had known for 18 years; they married in 1990. They ran a maple syrup business in New Hampshire and resided in Solana Beach, California.
