Orchestra Conductor, Composer. A native of the city of Québec, he founded and directed several formations of brass bands as well as the Symphonic Society of Quebec, in 1903, now called the “Orchestre symphonique de Québec,” the oldest of the still active Canadian orchestras. Prolific editor, he signed a considerable number of military marches and other musical works for orchestra, piano or voice. In 1922, he took part in the foundation of “l'École de musique de l’Université Laval,” an institution where he taught until his passing away in his hometown.
