Johnnie Marie Fryman was born on October 24, 1925 to Cosby and Thelma Turner in Choudrant, Lincoln Parish, Louisiana. She was graduated from Bellhaven College and taught school for many years. On August 31, 1947, she was married to Alfred Douglas Fryman. He worked as a geologist in the oilfield and they lived in 6 states – Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, Colorado and Oklahoma. After retiring they lived in Oklahoma City. In 2008, Johnnie moved to Elk City and was a member of the Elk City First Baptist Church. She peacefully passed away on January 17, 2013 in Elk City, Oklahoma, surrounded by her loving family. Her husband, Doug Fryman, preceded Johnnie in death in 1994. She is survived by her two sons, Doug Fryman, Jr. and his wife Sara, of Elk City, and Carl and his wife Zana of Odessa, Texas. Grandchildren are Trey and Hannah Fryman of Hampton, Virginia, Laura Fryman of OKC, Kristan and Michael McKelvey, Sean Fryman, Jennifer Fryman, Chris and Maritza Golden and Ryan and Sybil Golden and seven great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be on Saturday, January 19 at 2:00 PM at the Rose Hill Burial Park in Oklahoma City. The family suggests memorials may go to Caring Hands Hospice, 401 E. Third, Suite B, Elk City, Oklahoma, 73644
