Bessie Etta Darnall, 93, of Omaha, Nebraska, formerly of Grand Island, Nebraska, died Saturday, January 29, 2005, at Brighton Gardens in Omaha.

She was born on February 4, 1911, in Frontier County, Nebraska, to Oston and Etta (Harms) Klein.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Everne, in 2000.

Survivors of the immediate family include two daughters and a son-in-law, Phyllis and Thomas Johnsrud of Norfolk, Nebraska, and Juleen Olson of Omaha. Also surviving are one grandson, Rex Johnsrud and his wife, Carolyn of Laguina Hills, California; one great-grandson, Chad Johnsrud and his wife, Melissa, of Bainbridge Island, Washington; and one great-great-grandson, Isaac Johnsrud of Bainbridge, Island, Washington.

Mrs. Darnall grew up in the area receiving her education in Farnam, Nebraska.She was united in marriage to Everne Darnall on September 16, 1931, in Norton, Kansas. The couple made their home in Farnam and Gothenburg, Nebraska,
before moving to Grand Island in 1942. Mr. Darnall died on July 26, 2000.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she was involved with various church circles.She was preceded in death by her husband; mother and father; two
brothers, Louis and Ernest Klein; and three sisters, Anna Klein, Ella Miller and Emma Darnall.

Services were held at the Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Keyser officiating. Burial was in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery at Grand Island.Memorials are suggested to the Trinity United Methodist Church
music program.
