Henry Dominic Boone was the son of Henry Boone and Mary H. (Mudd) Boone. His grandparents were: Charles Boone, Sr. and Mary (Boarman) Boone and William and Elizabeth (Clements) Mudd.

In an 1829 Guardian Bond filed in the County Clerk's Office in Springfield, Kentucky Henry Dominic Boone was made the ward of William Boone.

Dominic Boone married Mary Ann Cecilia/Camilla Edelen on January 12, 1836 at St. Rose Priory Church, near Springfield, Washington County, Kentucky. Rev. Father Charles P. Montgomery, O.P. presided at their wedding. They had the following children baptized at St. Rose: Charles Henry Boone, 1838-1873; Thomas Jefferson Boone, 1840-19xx; Christopher Richard "Kit" Boone, 1843-18xx; Anna Martina Boone, 1845-1851; Mary Alice Louise Boone, 1851-xxxx; William Robert Boone, 1854-xxxx; and Joseph Thomas Boone, 1856-xxxx. We know from the obituary below that James Daniel Boone, Sr., 1861-1909, was also a son of this couple.

In the 1850 Federal Census of Washington County, Kentucky, household #1142, Henry D. Boone is listed in the household of Charles F. and Charity (______) Edelen, Dominic's parents-in-law. That listing is as follows: Chas. F. Edelen, age 56, male, head, farmer, b. MD; Charity A. Edelen, age 55, female, b. Md; Henry D. Boone, age 34, male, no occupation, b. KY; Mary C. Edelen, age 30, female, b. KY; Charles H. Edelen, age 10, male, b. KY; Thomas J. Edelen, age 10, male, b. KY; Christopher Edelen, age 7, male, b. KY; Martina Edelen, age 6. female, b. KY; and Elizabeth Edelen, age 3, female, b. KY.

In the 1870 Federal Census of Washington County, Kentucky, household #310, Springfield Precinct Dominc Boone is listed as 52 years old, male, white, carpenter, b. in KY. His two sons are the only ones listed with him as follows: Robert Boone, male, white, b. in KY, laborer; and Daniel Boone, age 9 years, male, white, b. in KY, no occupation listed.

Mr. Dominic Boone who was perhaps the oldest man in this county [Washington] died Tuesday at the home of his son Daniel Boone on the Lebanon road about two miles from town. Mr. Boone was born in 1812 and was a remarkably active man for one of his years. He was in Springfield about a week before he died and his death was caused by pneumonia from a cold he contracted last week after walking to Lebanon. He was of a restless disposition and last eek struck out from the home of his son and walked to Lebanon a distance of seven miles. He became overheated from the walk and caught a severe cold. He was taken back home by his son but died Tuesday from pneumonia. He has three sons living, as follows, Daniel, of this county, and Kit and Jefferson, of Daviess county.--News Leader.
