Deacon Milton Andrews was the son of Dr. John and Caroline (Bronson) Andrews. He married Charlotte (Osgood) Andrews and they had five children: Mason, Mary, Charlotte, Lucy, and Emily. He was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of New Britain. He was an active abolitionist prior to the Civil War and a "peace democrat" during the war. He lived throughout his life in the Dr. John Andrews homestead in what was once known as the Andrews Quarter section of New Britain.
