Ruby was a member of Highland United Methodist Church and the North Carolina Medical Assistants' Association; a trustee for the Transylvania Youth Association, Inc., and was vice president of the Supreme Forest Woodmen Circle.

Survivors include her daughter, Gail Bonnell; three grandsons, Douglas, Mark and David Foster and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Highland United Methodist Church, 1140 Cherokee Road. Private burial will be in Cave Hill Cemetery. Ratterman and Sons, Bardstown Road is entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to her church or the Shamrock Greyhound Placement, PO Box 1308, Shelbyville, KY 40066.
