Professional Billiard Player. Member of the Inaugural 2004 class of the One Pocket Hall of Fame. He won the first tournament he ever played, the 1962 Carson's One Pocket tournament. For the next three decades he would be a dominant player in Billiard circles. Known for his one handed playing he also developed what came to be known as Power One Pocket. Among other tournaments he went on to win the 1970 Johnson City One Pocket division and the 1984 Red's One Pocket Open. In 1966 - Ronnie won the Straight Pool, Nine Ball, and One Pocket All-Around Championship, held at the Stardust Hotel in Las Vegas. He was an old school player who gave a good game yet was a gentleman when off the playing floor. Walter Tevis author of "The Hustler" and "The Color of Money" stated that Ronnie Allen was the model for "Fast Eddie Felson" who was played by Paul Newman.
