Waclaw Piekarski, 71, of New Britain, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2012 surrounded by his loving family at Hartford Hospital after a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Janina (Szkirel) Piekarski for 48 years.

Waclaw was born in Poland on June 20, 1941; the son of the late Boleslaw and Romulda (Maciulewski) Piekarski. He was a member of Holy Cross Church, New Britain and was employed by Atlantic Tool prior to his retirement.

Waclaw leaves his loving wife Janina and his daughters, Anna Oszmian and her husband Bogdan of Newington, Jadwiga Hines of Estero, FL, Teresa Mieldzioc and her husband Stanislaw of Griswold, Barbara Piekarski of Portland, and MaryAnna Piekarski Booth and her husband Jamie of Ft. Myers, FL; his grandchildren, Michal, Joanna and Alexandra Oszmian; Kathryn, Stanislaw and Thomas Mieldzioc; Michelle, Kasey and Nicky Sienko. He is also survived by his brothers Stanislaw Piekarski and his wife Waclawa of New Britain, Janina Wneta of Erie PA and Anna Markow and her husband Tadeusz of Newington and several nieces and nephews. Waclaw was predeceased by his brothers and sister, Franciszek and Antoni Piekarski and Leokadia Zaremba.

He was laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain.
