"OBITUARY.

MRS. MARY WILLIAMS CROZIER.

Mrs. Mary Williams Crozier, aged 82, died at her home on Tazewell pike last night at 11 o'clock. She was the widow of John H. Crozier, Sr., one of the most prominent men of East Tennessee, and was the mother of a large family, some of whom have come to be widely known. Mrs. Crozier had been an invalid for several years, suffering from rheumatism. She was conscious to the last. She was the mother of a large family. The daughters are Miss Cornelia Crozier, Mrs. Lucy [sic] Crozier French, Miss Lucy Graham Crozier, Miss Mary Crozier and Miss Anna Crozier.

The sons are E. W. Crozier, who recently died, James Crozier, the blind son who lived with his mother, Will Crozier and John Crozier.

Those who knew Mrs. Crozier in her days of usefulness and activity admired her She was one of the oldest residents of the city and no family has been more prominently identified with the history of the city than this one. She made the first confederate flag made in Knoxville. For twenty years the family resided where the Imperial hotel now stands.

The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Epiphany Episcopal church. Rev. Henry Easter will conduct the service. The body will be interred in Old Gray cemetery by the side of the husband who died about twelve years ago."
