"Ida Blue, the third child and third daughter of John Gilchrist Blue and Annie Evans, was born February 22, 1861. She married first Captain James T. John, of John, NC. He belonged to one of the old and prominent families of Richmond County, NC.
After the death of Captain John, she married Benjamin I. Nicholson of Hot Spring, NC and they continued to reside upon her plantation. He died February 16, 1933. She devised all of her real estate to Barium Springs Presbyterian Orphanage except the home in which she lived. She died October 25, 1940. No children to either marriage."
