SWERDLOW, Annalea Loud died on Feb. 9, 2008, at age 94, surrounded by her loving family at the home of her daughter Susan Gilbert in Houston, TX.

She was born in Dayton, OH, in 1913 and lived in Weymouth, MA for 40 years and later for 32 years in Clearwater, FL, before moving to Houston to be near her daughter, Susan Gilbert.

She was predeceased by her husbands, Colonel Jerome Swerdlow in 2006 and Dr. Norman Loud in 1989.

She leaves a caring family that includes her 3 daughters, Dory Louden, of Marblehead, MA, Dr. Susan Gilbert, of Houston, TX, and Patricia Rash, of Hampton, VA; 11 grandchildren and their spouses, Norman and Diane Gilbert, of Houston, TX, Charles Louden, of San Francisco, CA, Charles Gilbert, of Houston, TX, Margaret Ferrell, of Tulsa, OK, Lisa Louden and Cyndi Wilkins, of Marblehead, MA, Annalea and Gary Flam, of Houston, TX, Kelly and Rick Pickering, of Marblehead, MA, Margaret and Michael Gilbert, of Houston, TX, Kevin and Meg Power, of Richmond, VA, Katie and Shannon Derr, of Hampton, VA, and Dawn Bennett of Alfred, NY; and 15 great-grandchildren.

MiMi, as she was affectionately called, was the matriarch of this large and extended family. She followed the activities of her family and always was there for them through the travails of life. She will be remembered for trips to the family cabin in Maine, to Ireland, Nantucket Island and many European travels.

Her joy of life and love of family and friends will be one of her many legacies. She was a communicant of Light of Christ Church in Clearwater and a member of the Clearwater Country Club.

A Mass will be celebrated at the Light of Christ Church on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at 1 pm, and followed by burial at the Sylvan Abbey Cemetery at 2860 Sunset Point Road. Friends and family are invited to attend.
