FUNERAL
The funeral of Dona Agustina Villareal de Benavides, wife of the late General Santos Benavides, occurred this morning at 9:05 o'clock from her late residence, Flores Ave. and Lincoln St., and San Agustin pro-Cathedreal. The funeral service at the house was conducted by sereral of the clergy of San Agustin, and at the church, the service including solemn high mass was performed by the Bishop assisted by the entire clergy of the church. There was a very large attendance of relatives, friends and acquaintances of the deceased and family. The floral offerings were many, elaborate and beautiful. The funeral cortege formed in front of the residence for several blocks in length, and included all available carriages of the city and a large number of private vehicles. From the church the long procession proceeded slowly to the old Catholic cemetery in the north-eastern part of the city, where the remains of General Santos Benavides were interred at his death a number of years ago, and the burial of his wife today was made in the same plot
Benavides Camp, the local camp of Confederate veterans, of which but a few now remain, named for the late husband of the deceased, was represented, also the Daughters of the Confederacy of the city, with the silken flag of the Confederacy, the gift of Mrs Cristobal Benavides to Benavides Chaptre, the local chapter of the U.D.C.
