Kenneth D. Chevalier, age 69, of Hot Springs Village, died Monday, May 5, 2003.

He was born on July 23, 1933 at Marion, Ohio the son of Jack V. Chevalier and Thelma Dawson Chevalier. He was married on July 15, 2000 to Kay Freyaldenhoven. His parents, one daughter, Marcia Kay Chevalier, two sisters and two brothers, preceded him in death.

Ken was a member of the Village Church of Christ; he was retired after thirty-four years as an engineer for Whirlpool Corporation in Marion, Ohio. Ken served four years active duty in the U. S. Navy as an inscriptionist and radar man aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Yorktown and four years Reserve service. He was a Korean War veteran. Ken was also a lifetime member of The American Legion Post 584 and Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 07201. He served as president and active member of the River Valley High School Booster Club.

He is survived by his wife, Kay Chevalier of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; one son and one daughter-in-law, John and Suzanne Chevalier of Cincinnati, Ohio; one daughter and one son-in-law, Gigi and Dr. Kent Guisinger of Columbus, Ohio; one granddaughter, Margeaux Thomas of Columbus, Ohio; one sister, Sandra Walker of Marion, Ohio; two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Jack and Sally Chevalier of Marion, Ohio and Maurice and Imogene Chevalier of Port Clinton, Ohio; one step-son, Drew Douglas of Hot Springs and one step-daughter, Laura Douglas of Conway.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, May 8, 2003 in the Village Church of Christ with Bros. Jim Gardner and Jim Mabry officiating.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 6, 2003 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.

Interment will be in Chapel Heights Memory Gardens in Marion, Ohio.

Arrangements are being made with the Hughes-Allen Funeral Home in Marion, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, Ken requested that donations be made to Hospice Home Care, Inc., Hot Springs.
