Word was received here a few days ago that A. A. Carson, known to nearly everyone at this place as "Andy," had died at Glasgow, Montana on Sunday, May 18. Mr. Carson was born and reared here where he lived all of his life until ten or twelve years ago he went to Montana to reside with his daughter, Mrs. W. B. Sanders. He was a veteran of the Civil War and was about 80 years old. Everybody liked Mr. Carson and the news of his passing was received here with a touch of sorrow.

The following account of the death of Andrew Carson, former well known citizen of this place, is taken from a Glasgow, Mont., newspaper: Andrew A. Carson, age 81 years, died Saturday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. B. Sanders in this city. Mr. Carson who was a veteran of the Union army, had always enjoyed perfect health and Saturday morning seemed vigorous as ever. He retired for a nap shortly after breakfast and passed peacefully away. Deceased was born in Kentucky in 1843 and came to Valley country with Mr. and Mrs. Sanders in 1914. Mrs. Sanders was an only child and her mother died 21 years ago. The funeral was held from the Peterson Chapel Monday afternoon, the Rev. Wm. Pippy officiating, and interment was in the Highland Cemetery.
