MRS. WILLIAM T. PIPER Mrs. William T. Piper of Lock Haven, Pa., who was born in Buffalo and was formerly a well-known contralto soloist here, died Saturday in Philadelphia. The funeral was held Monday in Lock Haven. Mrs. Piper before her marriage was Miss Marie T. VandeWater. She was a soloist in Prospect Avenue and Delaware Avenue Baptist churches and First Pilgrim Congregational church.
She is survived by her husband, William T. Piper, president of the Piper Aircraft company, Lock Haven; two daughters, Mrs. John Bolles of Fairfax, Cal„ and Miss Betty Piper of Lock Haven; three sons, William T. Piper Jr., Thomas Piper and Howard Piper* all of Lock Haven;, her mother, Mrs. Lena J. VandeWater of Buffalo; two brothers, Frank J. VandeWater and Howard C. VandeWater of Detroit, Mich., and three sisters, Mrs. Orimel W. Saxton of Buffalo, Miss Gertrude H. VandeWater of Detroit and Mrs. Gustavo H. Mende of Tonawanda.
