James A. Vanderheiden, 75, of Peshtigo, WI passed away July 16th, 2017, at Bay Area Medical Center of Marinette, WI. He was born October 16th, 1941, in Iron Mountain, Michigan, son of the late James L. and Dorothy (Cox) Vanderheiden.

In 1950 the family moved to Peshtigo where his parents built and operated the Sunset Motel and Vanderheiden Electric for many years. James also worked in the family business for a few years after graduating from Peshtigo High School in 1959 and then attended Milwaukee School of Engineering.

In 1963 he married the former Eileen Jalas in Milwaukee, WI. James worked for the Telephone Company for 36 years until 1994 and then owned and operated Vanderheiden Repair Service from 1994 to 2017 doing electrical work, welding, and blacksmith work.

James is survived by his wife, Eileen; a daughter, Sandra (Bill) Becker; a son, Brian Vanderheiden; and his granddaughters: Cassandra and Andrea Becker.

Along with his parents, James was preceded in death by a brother, Ken Vanderheiden.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
