On 30 October 1838 young George was among those brutally murdered when a mob of anti-Mormons attacked the camp in the infamous Haun's Mill Massacre.

Located : on the north bank of Shoal Creek, in what is now Fairview Township. George is one of 17 Mormons killed in the Haun's Mill Massacre.
