VETERAN OF TWO WARS DEAD.

MORGANFIELD, Ky., Oct. 11. - Captain Sam Pryor Duncan was found dead in bed this morning at an early hour, at the home of his brother, Ben S. Duncan, near this city, he retired in perfect health and, though sleeping in the room with another occupant, is supposed to have died without a struggle, as no sound was heard though the night. Captain Duncan was born April 22, 1826, near Bedford in Trimble county, Ky., went to the Mexican War in 1847 with General John S Williams and served through the war, returning to Kentucky in 1848. He enlisted in the Confederate Army as a Buckner Guard under General S. Bolivar Buckner, and was elected Captain of the Fourth Kentucky Cavalry. He was captured in 1863 at Blue Springs, Tenn., and remained at Johnson Island as a prisoner until the surrender.
