Knight of Flamborough, Yorkshire, Knight to the Body of the Kings Richard III and Henry VII. Steward of Tutbury, Donington and High Peak. Sheriff of Stafford and York, Knight of the Shire for York, Stafford and Lincoln. Ambassador to Scotland.

Son and heir to Sir Robert Constable of Somerby and Agnes Wentworth.

Firstly husband of Joyce Stafford, daughter of Sir Humphrey Stafford and Eleanor Aylesbury. They had fours sons and two daughters; Sir Robert, Sir Marmaduke, Sir William, Sir John, Agnes (wife of Henry Ughtred) and Eleanor.

Secondly husband of Margery FitzHugh, daughter of Henry, Lord FitzHugh. they had no children.

Sir Marmaduke served in France with King Edward IV, and was knighted by Henry Percy, Earl of Northumberland during the Scottish campaigns of 1480 to 1483. He was the Captain of the Left Wing at Flodden 09 Sept 1513.
