Chief Warrant Officer Bryan J. Henderson, 27, of Franklin, La. He was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 3rd Aviation Regiment, 3rd Combat Aviation Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, Hunter Army Airfield, Ga. He died March 11, in Kandahar, Afghanistan. Chief Warrant Officer Henderson, a Black Hawk pilot, joined the Army in May 2007 and arrived at the unit in August 2012. This was his second deployment. His awards include the Air Medal.
Funeral service for CW2 Bryan James Henderson, 27, of Pooler, GA formerly of Winnsboro, LA, will be held 2:00PM Friday, March 22, 2013, at Temple Baptist Church in Winnsboro, LA, with Rev. Rex Barker officiating. Interment will follow in Boeuf Prairie Methodist Church Cemetery in Fort Necessity, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe.
Bryan was born on June 29, 1985, in Monroe, LA, to Jimmy and Kim Henderson of Winnsboro, LA, and passed away serving his country on March 11, 2013 in Kandahar, Afghanistan. Bryan graduated from Winnsboro High School and was a graduate of University Louisiana at Monroe with a bachelor of science in aviation. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, skiing, scuba diving, and camping.
During his time in the Army, Bryan received 2 Army Commendation Medals, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal w/Bronze Service Star, Iraq Campaign Medal w/Bronze Service Star Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon Overseas, Service Ribbon NATO Medal, Posthumous Combat Action Badge, Basic Army Aviator Badge, Army Meritorious Unit Commendation and the Overseas Service Bar.
Bryan was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James and Nell Henderson.
Survivors include his wife, Trista Henderson; daughter, Aria Cruz Johnson; parents, Jimmy and Kim Henderson; maternal grandparents, Ray and Mary Pat Bryan; brother, Seth Henderson; uncles and aunts, Dr. Kyle Bryan, Eddie Ray and Michelle Bryan, Michael Bryan, Danny and Nancy Henderson, Lloyd and Margaret Ann Delaughter, Donna and Gordon Sorey, and Robert and Shelia Wallace; and numerous cousins and friends.
