Roger Enos, Jr. was one of the original settlers of Irasburg. He was a Deputy Collector of Customs and a Customs Inspector in Derby, Vermont. By 1810, he lived in Colchester, Vermont, and served as a Justice of the Peace for Chittenden County. He represented Irasburg in the Vermont House of Representatives in 1812, 1821 and 1824, and was a member of the 1828 Vermont Constitutional Convention.

Roger married Emily Corning Paddock on October 20, 1829 in Williston, Vermont. Their daughter, Ellen Maria, was born in 1832 in Irasburg, Vermont.

Roger Enos Papers, Special Collections, University of Vermont Library contains a collection of bills and receipts pertaining to Roger Enos' business transactions and the settling of his estate.

Death announcement:Burlington Free Press, August 13, 1841. Roger's death announcement, refers to him as "Major Roger Enos," as does the death announcement for Emily Enos and Ellen Enos Chase. 1921 transcripts of Roger Enos' death record list his wife as "Emily P Corning Chase". This appears to be a error, confusing the names of Roger's wife and daughter.

Roger Enos is memorialized on the William Paddock stone at Lakeview. The lot is owned by Russell Chase, who is the husband of Ellen Maria Enos Chase. Lakeview Cemetery did not exist in 1841, when Roger died. No records have yet been found that Roger Enos was re-interred at Lakeview; the memorial here may be a cenotaph.
