MARRIED - At the Congregational Church in this place, on Tuesday, the 22d inst., by Rev. F. T. Bailey, Mr. Henry M. Steele of East Bloomfield, and Miss E. Francis Howard, of Canandaigua.

Naples Record, Wednesday, Sept. 6, 1916:

The death of Mrs. Fannie Steele occurred in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Earl Appleton, in Centerfield, Sunday morning, September 3, 1916, following a long illness. She was 63 years of age, was born and had always lived in Canandaigua and East Bloomfield. Her husband, Henry Steele, died ten years ago. She leaves four daughters, Mrs. Fred Appleton, of Batavia, Mrs. J. Burton of Honeoye Falls; Mrs. Delbert S. Wilbur, of Naples, and Mrs. Earl Appleton of East Bloomfield; two granddaughters, Helen Appleton of Batavia, and Frances Appleton of East Bloomfield, and one sister in Rochester, Mrs. Minnie Lane. The funeral was held from the Appleton home on Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock, with Rev. David Torrance, pastor of the Congregational church in East Bloomfield officiating, and burial was in the East Bloomfield Cemetery.

East Bloomfield, N. Y. - The death of Henry M. Steele occurred at his home east of this village at 5 o'clock on Wednesday morning at the age of 71 years. Mr. Steele suffered a stroke of paralysis two years ago in February, and since that time had been in feeble health. Last Saturday he suffered another stroke and lay unconscious until the end came. Mr. Steele was born in this town 71 years ago on Feb. 7. He was the son of Nathaniel Steele, and a grandson of Joel Steele, who came from Connecticut to East Bloomfield in 1789. The deceased was educated in the East Bloomfield academy and also attended the Rochester university. He took a course in the Gregory's Business college at Detroit, Mich. After spending three years in Michigan, he returned to his native town and assisted on his father's farm, which he afterwards purchased. In 1874 he married Miss Frances E. Howard of Canandaigua, who with four daughters, Mrs. Fred R. Appleton, of Canandaigua, Miss Clara G. Steele, a teacher in the Honeoye Falls Union school, Mrs. Delbert S. Wilbur of Naples, and Mrs. Earl R. Appleton, of this place, survive. Mr. Steele was a lifelong Republican, and took an active interest in all the affairs of his party. He was a member of the Congregational church. The funeral will be held from the family home this afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. W. D. Robinson officiating. The interment will be in the village cemetery.
