Obituary from the Daily Missouri Republican (St. Louis) Feb. 25, 1854 reads as follows:
DIED
at the residence of his son in Clay county Mo. on the 3d of January last, WILLIAM ATCHISON Sr. Esq. late of Fayette county, Kentucky.
The deceased was born in Carlisle Pa on the 2d February 1780 and was consequently within two days of his [unreadable] year at the time of his death.
Willam and Kitty had six children. One not linked below was David Rice Atchison, Sr.
