Emily was named after her grandmother, Emily Ann Augusta St.Aubert Churchill (1822-1914), who lived in Louisville, Ky. and married in 1842, Hampden Zane (1821-89), of Wheeling, [W.]Va. Three children were Abigail Churchill (1843-60), Mary Eliza (1844-1917) and Thomas Hampden Zane (1846-62).
