Hattie Bell Hardy, 93, died Oct. 20, 2005, at Flushing Hospital, Flushing. Born Oct. 4, 1912, in Alcolu, she was a daughter of the late Columbus Johnson and Maria Wright Johnson.
She attended elementary school in the hall behind Reeseville Church and high school in Sumter. She attended Reeseville as a child and young teen. Upon moving to New York, she attended Bridge Street Baptist Church. She retired from Cascade Laundry.
Survivors include one daughter, Ruth (Clay) Bradley of Queens, N.Y.; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers.
Services: Reeseville AME Church, Alcolu, with the Rev. Marie Harvin, pastor, officiating.
Burial: Reeseville AME Church Cemetery.
