Mr. Hubert E. McPhail Sr., age 70, died Thursday, April 18, 2013 at his home in Mendenhall, MS. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am. Saturday at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg, MS with Rev. George Owens and Rev. Roger Lee officiating. Burial will follow in County Line Cemetery in Glen Allan, MS. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday at the the funeral home.
Mr. McPhail was a native of Mayersville, MS and had lived in the Sharkey County and Jackson, MS area for many years. He had lived in Mendenhall for the past 10 years. He served in the U. S. Air Force as a Staff Sgt. He worked for Capitol Body Shop for 32 years as a body shop appraiser. He was a member of the Chief's Hut Hunting Club in Holly Bluff, MS.
He is preceded in death by his parents Hoy L. McPhail, Sr. and Belvia D. McPhail; his brothers Hoy L. McPhail, Jr., Robert McPhail, Herbert McPhail and Herman McPhail; sisters Letha Sims, Nettie Wixon, Grace Shive, Lucille Bodie and Addie Mae Holloway.
He is survived by his wife Gale McPhail of Mendenhall, MS; son Bert McPhail (Amanda) of Jackson, MS; daughter Chrisy Grant (Prentiss) of Flowood, MS; brother Charles R. McPhail (Mary Margaret) of Rolling Fork, MS; sister Janelle Holloway of Canton, MS; grandchildren Autumn Grace King and Pierson MaClain McPhail.
Pallbearers will be Bert McPhail, Eddie Robertson, Eric McPhail, Keith Ragan, Byron Switzer, Mike Addison and James Robertson. Honorary pallbearers will be George Ray Williamson, Charles Ray McPhail, Bob Wixon, Curtis Switzer, Prentiss Grant and David Brown.
