Obituary: Funeral services for Mrs. Lucy Alwilda Carter Corbett (1873-1964), 90, of Hastings, were held at 2 p.m. Friday in the First Baptist Church of Hastings with the church’s pastor, Rev. O. D. Moore, officiating. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery, St. Augustine.
Mrs. Corbett, who died Tuesday, was born in Cartersville, Fla., and for the past 22 years made her home with her daughter, Mrs. D. D. Reid, of Hastings.
Surviving are seven daughters, Mrs. J. W. Beach, Elkton, Mrs. Gideon Yelvington, Mrs. D. D. Reid and Mrs. J. W. Rhodes, all of Hastings; and Mrs. Ella Wilson, Mrs. Carl Badger, and Mrs. Walter Colee, all of St. Augustine. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Eva Myrtric Carter Langford, Mrs. H. H. Bailey and Mrs. W. R. (Ada Idella Carter) Byrd, all of Hastings, and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Warner Wells, Charles Proctor, William Allen, Al Wilke, Isaac Thomas and E. D. Kaiser. Funeral arrangements were made by Craig Funeral Home of St. Augustine. (Palatka Daily News Obituary dtd Monday, 21 Sep 1964.)
