Clare S. Beckett Dies Unexpectedly

Clare S. Beckett died unexpectedly Thursday evening, Sept. 24, [1959], at the Veterans Hospital in Saginaw, where he had been a patient about two weeks.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Gagetown Methodist Church with the Rev. Fred Werth officiating. Hunter Funeral Home of Gagetown was in charge of arrangements. Committal services at Elmwood Cemetery were under the auspices of Acme Lodge, F & A M.

Mr. Beckett was born March 30, 1895, at Kemptville, Ont. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. Moses Beckett. He moved from Canada with his parents to Elmwood Township in 1910 and settled on a farm. He and his brother operated the farm until he retired several years ago.

Surviving are one sister, Mrs. William Anker of rural Cass City, and one brother, Charles of Gagetown. One brother, Kelbe, died in 1918.
