Born to Robert Lock and Ann McCowan Read. Married Lucy Maria Robinson on June 15, 1904 in Salt Lake Temple. Then left June 21, 1904 to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday saints in England, under President Heber J. Grant. After the death of his beloved Lucy he would later marry Grace Cherry on August 23, 1940. At the time of his death Alonzo was survived by four children, 20 grandchildren, and 35 great-grandchildren.
