Mary M. Belz
NORMAL -- Mary M. Belz, 88, of 200 Cambridge, Normal, died at 8:30 a.m. Sunday (May 15, 2005) at her residence.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick's Church of Bloomington, 1209 W. Locust St., Bloomington. The funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick's Church. Father Patrick O'Neal will officiate. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Bloomington. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the church in her memory. Kibler-Smith Memorial Home, Bloomington, is in charge of arrangements.
Mary was born Sept. 23, 1916, in Bloomington, a daughter of the late Frank J. Belz and the late Catherine Reardon.
Mary is survived by a sister, Florence (Jack) Dennis of Bloomington; two nieces; seven nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Kathryn Ginter and Dorothy Belz; and three brothers, Frank L., Thornton and Edmund Belz.
Mary was a member of St. Patrick's Church of Bloomington and the Altar and Rosary Society of the church. After graduating from Trinity High School in Bloomington, she moved to Chicago and was employed by Armour & Company. In 1971, she was transferred to the Phoenix, Ariz., office, retiring in December of 1981 and relocated to Normal. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed being able to play all seasons.
