PRINCETON — Myrtle Frances Davis Bailey
PRINCETON — Myrtle Frances Davis Bailey, 75, of 106 Mountain View Drive, Princeton, died Saturday, April 06, 2013, at her residence.
Born May 12, 1937, in Weyanoke, she was the daughter of the late Roy Jonathan Davis and Olive Ruth Burdette Davis.
Myrtle was a 1956 graduate of Matoaka High School. She worked at various military base exchanges during the years her husband served in the U.S. Air Force. She was employed by Acme in Princeton for several years prior to retirement. Myrtle had been a resident of Princeton since 1975, moving here from Columbus, Mississippi. She was of the Baptist Faith.
In addition to her parents, Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Bailey; five sisters, Madline Milam and husband Ishmelle, Anna Mae Moore and husband Charles, Irene Boyles and husband Eugene, Helen Robertson and husband Willard, and Martha Ann DeHart; seven brothers, Roy J. Davis, Jr. and wife Elsie, Edward Lee Davis, Ligah P. Davis and wife Betty, Dewey Davis and wife Dorothy, Harold Davis and wife Lou, Locie Davis, and Johnny Davis.
She is survived by three sons, Richard R. Bailey, Larry, W. Bailey, and Steven H. Bailey, all of Princeton; three grandchildren, Candace Bailey, Joshua Bailey, and Randy Bailey; several nieces and nephews including special niece and caregiver, Barbara Blankenship of Sophia; special friend and caregiver, Donna Tate of Max Meadows, Va.; and her faithful canine companion, Peaches.
In keeping with Myrtle's wishes, her body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013, at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Scott Catron officiating. Her cremains will be entombed at a later date in Resthaven Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until the service hour Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Compassus, 120 Shaker Lane, Princeton, WV 24740.
