TV/Film Producer. Co-founder with James Ivory of Merchant-Ivory Productions. Born Ismail Noormohamed Abdul Rehman in Bombay, India, he worked and lived for most of his life in the West. His first film was a theatrical short, The Creation of Woman, which was nominated for an academy award in 1961. Merchant-Ivory productions was responsible for films such as A Room With A View, Howard's End, Remains of the Day, and Jefferson in Paris.
