Harold W. Heeter, age 89, of Elwood, passed away on May 8, 2013, at Millers Merry Manor in Tipton following an extended illness.
Harold was born on February 25, 1924, to Charles and Edith (Brown) Heeter in North Manchester, IN. Harold married Ruth (Davis) Heeter on April 12th, 1948, she survives. He retired as an electrician from Dana Corp. and then from Ex-Cel-lo Corp.

Harold served our county in the US Army. One of Harold's proudest accomplishments was that of a decorated soldier earning a bronze star serving as both a mechanic and corpsman in charge of a dispensary at the Battle of the Bulge in W.W. II. He could sit for hours reliving war stories with an impish grin on his face. Harold was also one of those men who could fix anything, whether it was a car, truck, or building his own home from the ground up. He loved to go fishing every chance he got and he never met a stranger. He would go out of his way just to talk to you. He is loved by many and will truly be missed by all.

Harold is survived by his loving wife- Ruth Heeter of Elwood
2 Daughters - Dianna Foshee of Indianapolis and Dr. Debbie King of Mount Pleasant, SC
6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren
