BAZINE - Mattie Mae DeWald, 77, died
Thursday at her home in Bazine.

Born Mattie Mae Staley, Nov. 30, 1903,
at La Crosse,she was married to Reuben S.
DeWald, Dec. 26, 1926. He died March 10, 1975.

She was a member of the United Methodist
Church; United Methodist Women, Golden Age
Club, all of Bazine.

Survivors: son, Melford D., Bazine; daughters,
LaVera Lee, Wichita; Coralee Thornburg,
Utica; brother, the Rev. Sam Staley, Larned;
sisters, Helen Foos, Bison; Beulah Foos,
Dighton; Eva Foos, Bazine; six grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Bazine
United Methodist Church; the Rev. Sam
Hooker. Burial at the Bazine Cemetery.
