Gray M. Isabel, 93, of Hastings, died March 15, 2014 at Golden Living Center-Haida, Hastings. Born March 7, 1921 in Spangler, daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth ( Glasser ) Gray. Preceded in death by parents, brothers; Joseph III, Jerome, Cornelius and Richard ( Dick ) and sisters; Rosalie Schissler, Helena Stratton and Louise Stiefel. Survived by sister; Mary Jo Fongheiser of Baltimore and several nieces and nephew's. Isabel grew up in Spangler and attended Holy Cross Catholic Church and School . She also went to Mt. Aloysius Acadamy in Cresson and Misericordiae College in Dallas, Pa where she graduated. Isabel spent most of her life in Baltimore, MD working in various offices. She retired from Sheppard-Pratt Hospital in Baltimore. Isabel had a good sense of humor and was kind to everyone and she loved animals. After retiring, she moved to Chambersburg and then to Gallitzin. Friends received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, at Long-Contres Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria, and also from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday. Funeral mass will be at celebrated 11:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Chapel, Fr Larry Lacovic. Committal Holy Cross Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the staff of Golden Living Center for their loving care over the years and Asera Care Hospice for their care in her final days. Family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church.
